Supporting Woolwich Service Users Project on their Decarbonisation Journey

As a company, we believe the transition towards net zero should deliver value for local communities and charities alike.

We were therefore pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Woolwich Service Users Project (WSUP), in collaboration with Baily Garner LLP, to support the charity on its decarbonisation journey.

Building Site Assessment

The project involved an EPC site assessment and decarbonisation review of WSUP’s Woolwich based community facility. Working collaboratively with Baily Garner, our assessment considered the building fabric, heating and ventilation systems, energy use as well as opportunities available to improve site overall energy performance.

Considering energy efficiency and low-carbon improvements, as a Grade II listed building, the building presents particular challenges. We therefore adopted a practical, building-specific approach, identifying solutions supporting decarbonisation, while respecting the building’s heritage and operational requirements.

The resulting decarbonisation strategy provides WSUP with a clearer understanding of opportunities identified and associated roadmap towards a lower-carbon objective.

Collaboration for Maximum Social Value

Projects such as these are about more than reducing carbon emissions.

Community based organisations will play an increasingly important role in transitioning towards a low carbon environment for all. We believe that supporting organisations such as WSUP will directly improve both sustainability and efficiency of their buildings and contribute to strengthening the social value, while supporting the UK’s wider transition towards net zero.
